Who said wedding season was in the Summer? Because let me tell you, some people didn't get the memo.
This past week a good friend of mine got married. I've known him for a really long time, over 10 years, and let me tell you I never thought he would have gotten married. He was never a person that saw himself married or having a family. He always talked about not needing a piece of paper to prove his love for anyone. SO I was very surprised when I got his invite for his wedding. I was also very happy and excited for him and his, now, wife. They had also just welcomed their baby girl in July.
And this upcoming week my Godmother is getting married! We are all so excited and happy for her family. She and her fiance have been together for over 5 years, they have a child together. This day is also a bittersweet time for the family, since my uncle, her father, is no longer with us, it's always sad to celebrate such an important time without him. It's like when big life-changing things happen we are happy but a bit sad that he is not here with us to celebrate and bring more joy to the celebration as only he could. All the family gets together, we are a small but close family, so my cousin comes from Chicago, my other cousins all come support.
But like I said this two happy couples didn't get the memo that weddings are on Summers, but oh well.
